Are you interested in your local community? Would you like to have your views heard when it comes to shaping the future of Torpoint? Why not consider becoming a Town Councillor. Torpoint Town Council currently has a vacancy for a Town Councillor, to qualify you will need to be: -
- over the age of 18 years,
- a UK, Commonwealth or EU Citizen
- live in the parish, or within 3 miles of the parish boundary for at least the last 12 months.
How much time will you need to commit?
You will ideally need to attend 12 Council meetings during the year, however there are lots of additional committee meetings which you can attend, the length of the meetings varies, but usually last approximately 2 hours.
What is Involved?
Being part of the decision-making processes during meetings, including deciding where money should be spent, what services are provided and what policies are implemented. You will have a responsibility to local constituents and organisations. This is an unpaid, voluntary position which can be challenging but very rewarding too.
