Torpoint and Rame Peninsula Coastal Community Team
Torpoint and the Rame Peninsula (including the parishes of Antony, Maker with Rame, Millbrook, St John and Sheviock) is known locally as ‘Cornwall’s Hidden Corner’ and the gateway to South East Cornwall. It is home to one of the largest collection of post Napoleonic forts and ancient scheduled monuments in the country, sites of special scientific interest, areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Mount Edgcumbe Country Park - with 864 acres of Grade 1 historic parkland and Antony House, a National Trust property. The area has a rich maritime history with HMS Raleigh on the doorstep, and it provides extensive riverside views of the historic Devonport Royal Dockyard – all this only a short ferry journey from Britain's 'Ocean City,' Plymouth.
Torpoint and Rame Peninsula Coastal Community Team is a partnership of organisations including parish councils, Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, Antony Estate, business representatives and voluntary organisations.
The first priority is to produce an Economic Plan and Vision, that maximises the opportunities of the waterfront, reconnecting the communities of the Rame Peninsula, to deliver sustainable economic growth and prosperity. Torpoint and the Rame Peninsula is on the cusp of an exciting changing time for land and sea.
